10/10 recommend Jason as your DJ/MC. If you want to see 200 people up and dancing and energized at your wedding, look no further. Jason is your guy. He cares so deeply about his couples and his role in helping make their wedding the most magical day of their lives. We were married 3 weeks ago and we are STILL getting texts and phone calls re: how amazing Jason was as a DJ and asking for his contact info for their next event.

Jason was the DJ for me and my husband's wedding at The Cracker Factory this past weekend! He was so flexible with the timing of our planning meetings and was extremely friendly. Jason really helped to smoothly facilitate all the transitions between the ceremony and reception that I was particularly initially worried about. And of course, his song selections were a big hit for everyone - we loved that he pays attention to the crowd & the vibe the whole time! Thank you again Jason!

Jason from Salt City Sound made my and my (now) husband's wedding day so perfect. He was very professional, considerate, and very conscientious. I especially appreciate that he took the time to meet with me and my husband a few times before our wedding in order to construct a timeline of the evening that alotted an appropriate amount of time for all major wedding rituals. Jason was also up for the challenge of djing for his first time on a dinner boat reception cruise and helping us to negotiate challenges of having three floors that wedding guests might be hanging out on. Despite this 'new' format, Jason did such a good job of keeping us on time throughout the night, fielding guest questions/protecting my husband and I on wedding night from guest questions, and making sure that the dance floor was lit! We could not have done our wedding without Jason and are very grateful for his help!

Jason was phenomenal! He was both our officiant and DJ for our Friday the 13th wedding. He was so personable that all of our guests thought that we knew him for years, rather than just chatting with him for a few meetings! He kept the dance floor going all night long and played all of our requests and more! Our guests raved about him and the dance floor for weeks after the wedding! Would highly recommend Salt City Sound Machine for all your weddings and any event that needs a high energy dance floor and DJ!

Two words. Hire. Jason. Three things people remember at weddings. Food. Drinks. MUSIC and Jason absolutely KILLED it. As a self proclaimed type A bride, I was very particular about the music choices and specific timing of entrances. Jason was very accommodating and answered my questions the same way every time no matter how many times I asked them and no matter how many different ways they were asked. He was professional, down to earth, and so easy to work with. My dad wanted to add a special message that played before we walked down the aisle, and Jason put the song underneath his recording and made it just that much more special. Not a dry eye in the house. Look no further than Salt City Sound Machine for your wedding DJ!

Jason is the man! We met him through one of his weekly trivia games, and knew he was the perfect MC! We booked him as our wedding DJ for October 2024. Overall, he is an organized, chill guy that helps keep stress low throughout the whole wedding planning process. He played every song we requested, and the guests loved him! He was high-energy and showed "no mercy" on the dance floor. If you're looking for an awesome DJ with a great sense of humor for your special day, then Salt City Sound Machine is the perfect match!

Jason was absolutely amazing! He kept the dance floor packed all night with incredible music and even played some country during dinner just for me. He went above and beyond—he even sent us special gifts after the wedding! Everyone keeps telling us how much fun they had. We highly recommend him for any event!

He was not only our DJ but our officiant as well. Music is downloaded vs streaming so no worries about iffy, or non existent internet. He kept the party moving. Very professional and accommodating. No issues whatsoever so ever. Hire this guy before he’s booked.

We hired Salt City Sound Machine to DJ for our wedding and it was the BEST decision we made. Not only did Jason already have experience with our venue and our venue coordinator, but he was incredibly easy to work with while planning a cross country wedding! Multiple guests were asking us for his contact information. Reach out to Jason for your wedding or special event - he made our wedding so, so special and worked with us on all the details. Thank you, Jason! We hope we see you again!

A late review, but Jason officiated our wedding last month and was amazing. I forgot my vows in the car and my bridesmaid had to run and grab them and he filled the awkward space so well! He did a perfect job and even brought a sound system and played music for us. Highly recommend! Thank you, Jason! We appreciate your service!

On top of that, Jason is professional, reliable, and refreshingly down-to-earth. A top choice for weddings, corporate events, and everything in between😍🎶✨

WHAT DO YOU WANNA KNOW?
FAQ
Booking
What does it take to book?
Booking requires two components: a signed contract and a down payment. When the contract is signed and the down payment is received, your event’s date is locked in.
What if I'm from out of town, can we still book if we're not there in person?
Absolutely, we can do it all online, no problem.
Do you also accept online payments for down payment?
Yes, Venmo and Paypal are totally fine.
How far out do you book?
It varies, but generally, SCSM gets inquiries a year to a year and a half in advance. Sometimes, people can find holes in the schedule and book as soon as a few months out, but the calendar fills up quickly, so that might not always be an option
I'm not sure if I want to book, can we meet in person or online to ask further questions?
Yes we can. I want my clients to have all the information they need before they decide to book. That’s why I offer a free consultation
Do you subcontract?
No chance, Lance. If you talk with Salt City Sound Machine, you get Salt City Sound Machine. We love what we do, why let someone else have all the fun?
I'm booking a wedding, but I don't know what songs I want yet, can/should I still book?
Yes and yes. We don’t talk music until about a month before the wedding. Take your time and choose the right music for you.
Ok, I've booked Salt City Sound Machine, what's next?
For weddings, the next step is that you will receive a Music Selection Packet, then about a month before the wedding, we will have a meeting where we’ll talk music and create a timeline.
For parties/schools, SCSM will reach out before the event to get any details, requests, etc that might be needed
Do you require anything?
Just a table, a chair, and standard access to power.
Performance
Do you do ceremonies?
Yes. Salt City Sound Machine usually provides 3 types of service for ceremonies:
1. Music – Typically for guests seated before the ceremony (Prelude), then down the aisle (Processional & Bridal Processional) and back up the aisle (Recessional).
2. Microphones for those who need it.. officiants, readers, and sometimes the brides and grooms themselves.
3. Officiant services. SCSM can marry you!
You can officiate? How do you play music and officiate at the same time?
We have our secrets, let’s just say, technology is our friend sometimes.
My ceremony or cocktail hour is in a different area of the venue, is that a problem?
Not at all. SCSM has specifically chosen equipment for their flexibility and mobility. It’s a seamless and quick transition from place to place with minimal set up gaps.
What about Emceeing?
SCSM loves to rock a microphone when it’s appropriate, so emceeing is included.
Do you take requests?
There are no problem taking requests. But ultimately, it’s up to you. Some people are ok with guest requests, some people aren’t. If you are ok with them, we’ll take them. If not, we won’t.
If you don't have something, can I still request it?
Yes, as long as there is a digital version of the song, it should be able to be downloaded. And song downloads are also included in the price.
Anything else I should know?
Well along with playing music and getting the dance floor hot, we are also hands on with other aspects of the reception. That includes getting people lined and paired up for intros, letting speakers know how to use the mic correctly, making sure people are in place for things like cake cutting.. basically making sure the trains run on time.
